Overview
Harbouring the fabled Mountains of the Moon whose highest point is at 5,109 metres above sea level on Mt Stanley’s Margherita Peak. The park harbors over 70 mammals and 217 bird species including 19 Albertine Rift endemics, the world’s rarest vegetation; moist montane forest and lies in western Uganda along the Uganda-Congo border. The scenery of the valley of nine lakes, the confronted lichen hanging from giant heathers with a backdrop of rocky face, crags, and snowfall capped peaks is a norm to the destination like no other.
