Children Terms and Conditions

  1. Subject to (b) below, children under the age of 3 years will not be allowed on safaris, however, may stay behind at the safari camp premises with a booked minder. No children under the age of 12 years shall be allowed on the environmental walking safari without a tour guide or safari guide.
  2. Children between the age of 3 to 12 shall only accompany their parents/guardians on safari if there is exclusive use of a safari vehicle. The usage of an exclusive vehicle is subject to availability, a surcharge, and restrictions at sightings due to possible disturbance to animals and/or guests on other vehicles.
  3. Child Minders can be arranged and pre-booked upon arrival via our contact email with that specific request and this cost ranges from a minimum rate of $50 per child per day which is to be paid directly to the child minder.
  4. Children aged 3 years and younger will not be allowed in the boma for dinner. Dinner will be arranged in the Safari Lounge between 17hr00 and 19hr00 or as per the room service booked. Breakfast and lunch as per normal with parents/guardians unless there is exclusive occupancy of the safari camp premises.
  5. While as all our adventure safaris are favorable to accommodate children, Explora Journeys Africa Limited reserves the right of allowing or disallowing children on safari for any possible reason and this is at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer or the General Manager/Ranger of the vehicle for each specific destination.
  6. The Children’s Policy and Rates applies to standard, group, and exclusive use reservations.
  7. Children under 5 years need to be accompanied to the children centre by an adult (parent, family member or child minder that must be booked through Reception).
  8. When there are evening activities in the hotels or safari camps, children under 5 years need to be accompanied by an adult (parent, family member or child minder, which may be booked through Reception).
  9. Provided, there is exclusivity of either lodge with family and/or friend’s children may be allowed, and rates are available on request.
  10. If vehicle exclusivity is required, an incremental charge to use the vehicle per night will be levied. A Night is regarded as lunch to lunch including an afternoon/evening and morning safari. Vehicle exclusivity is subject to availability and is based on the following seating capacities.
  11. Vehicle exclusivity must be pre-booked and the surcharge, where applicable, will be charged to the extras account.
