Our commitment to sustainability

Conservation. The deep understanding of our destinations has inevitably awakened our need to protect and conserve the regions we serve. Ever since we commenced our adventure journeys to these most remote, renowned and wildly corners of the African continent, exploring and constantly learning from what these vast conservation territories are endowed with, we felt that this was no longer enough and impelled to go a little bit further. We are committed to being an active force in the protection of the environment and fight against climate change in each of the conservation territories where we operate.

With pleasure, we are profound to declare our pioneering and annual sponsorship of the Gorilla Conservation Marathon, a worldwide and annual marathon event pioneered by conservationists and mountain gorilla enthusiasts to instill more awareness around the world about the conservation for these rarest and endangered mountain gorillas.

Social impact. To our discerning guests, this means experiences that go beyond the wilderness, not only providing them with excellent service through everything we do but also adding and taking them through an in-depth experience regarding exploration activities along the path of how we support and positively impact communities in the immediate neighborhood of the remote conservation territories we serve.

Economic Impact. At Explora Journeys Africa , we work to provide our travellers with memorable experiences. In doing so, we are aware that we can also make a significant contribution to local economies. This is particularly important as our operations are carried out in the most remote and wildly territories, where economic activity and opportunities are often scarce for the locals. We ensure that over 95% of the staff that are always at the back of each of our operations are locals and firmly believe we can watch over their salaries as they equally support their families and reliable collaborators as we also buy most of the utilized products from their respective areas. We are also aware of the importance of contributing to the economic transition of these territories, which is why we support various education and partnership projects including Bwindi Education Partnership Center (BEPC).
